Hi, Have never laminated anything but posters. However I once did paint two watercolors with a coat of Benjamin Moore latex varnish and they have stood up so far without yellowing (although neither had white in it) or damage to the paper. Did this about 1996 and they are still ok today. Could have used them for placemats if I chose to. The "Stays Clear Varnish" has only one problem so far and that is that it is a satin finish not matt but it was interesting although a little difficult to apply since it had to be done one coat with a roller. |

I wonder what laminating will do to a water color painting. Trying to find a way to avoid that heavy glass and it's cost. Today I painted some strips in various colors I use. One laminated and one not. I will put them in a sunny window and cover half of each one and see what happens. I will report back next week. But what I can't test is what laminating will do long term to the paper. Do you all have any information on that? |
