I am not sure, but in some cases a shrink may be manditory. |

Linda I haven't felt the need. But It would be cheaper the seeing a shrink! |

Painting a scream is therapeutic. I've made only one abstract work, and it is a scream. Felt so good to touch brush to paper, roll around in saturated colors of my choosing, and not have to worry one whit about what it looked like! If ever anyone feels strong emotion, I recommend they take a set of colors, water, paper and brush, and just do their thing. No one ever has to look at it, if desired. (But I still do, and find it beautiful in its way.) Often one CAN be too depressed to paint, especially when one tries to inject beauty in works, and finds none around. This is the time to watch comedy movies, to take walks and search for beauty somewhere expectantly (one should be expectant for beauty search, or find expectancy along the way - exercise almost always helps). Please understand that we are not victims of "acts of God." As animals know when a storm or earthquake is coming, we do too, but our current societal conditioning has made us believe we don't. It's not true. We each choose our circumstances at deeper levels for reasons we may or may not consciously know. Sometimes our deeper selves hide the impending information from our conscious selves in order for us to learn important information. What is important is to get something out of the event that is valuable. When we are so lost, scream-painting helps! Prayer, meditation, returning to our centers (a place within of non-reaction to the past, only acting from the present), forgiveness - these can help. Sometimes it all happens so we can find who is important. This forum is important, as Sarita has shown. I love each and every one of you! |

Here we go again! I hope all of us Florida based people are okay right now. TS Jeanne is sitting about 35 miles north of me right now & getting weaker. Power is out all around but we won't know till tomorrow (monday) about statewide damage. Good luck to everyone in & near Polk Cty & Orlando etc on getting hammered a 3rd time. |

Why not paint what you see and tell the story of what happened with it. A form of therapy of sorts. |

Sarita, I know what you mean. Here on the W. coast of beautiful sunny Fla. we are still wondering if Ivan is gonna blow us away. (looks like Mobile & Pensa are gonna get the worst.) Hope you cheer up soon. Like John says...do a "scream" and let loose on a splashy abstract or something. |

It must be terrible for you folks. I have friends there who are in the same situation. Maybe this is the time to paint another SCREAM Hang in there, things will get better-- they can't get any worse. Thinking of you. |

Hey all, I been going through hell last week. Hurricane Frances took her sweet time getting here and leaving. Geez!!! I thought it would never end. Anyway, without power and water, I just can't paint and that makes me feel off balance. Its kinda hard to explain. But what really depresses me it she took all my beautiful tropical plants, chewed on them for a day, then spit them out. Our power company tells me we won't have power till 9/19 or longer. No water, No power, no nothing!!!! So guys I need major cheering up. BTW I'm able to post this at work, at least it is still here. |
