Has anyone had any experience with a Zoltan Szabo watercolor easel. It is rather large, 28x20x7 with drawers that slide out. Weighs about 16lbs - not very plein air friendly, and made of wood. Someone is offering me one for a rather good price but it looks as if it might be hard to overreach the drawer to paint. It can be positioned nearly flat, 80% perhaps. Any ideas? Good or bad would be appreciated. Thanks. |

I bought the one from CJ that has a tripod and an aluminum rail--the WC-10--the rail was wobbley and eventually wouldn't hold. Then the handle fell off. Became useless. I would check out sun eden below for quality gear. Actually what I use is a n old Anco wooden watercolor easel. I saw one advertised in an old 1980's watercolor magazine last year, liked what i saw, and found one soon after on e-bay and got it for $45. Great easel--folds up to a small rectangle. |

Anyone know if those metal easels such as in CJ's main catalog are good? I need a portable one for a plein air workshop and I like to work standing. |

Give sun eden a look--I've found that their stuff is the best: http://www.sun-eden.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=SAG&Category_Code=Watercolor |
