Sentamentalit y is a barrier to more profound feelings and insights. Great depths in art are not achieved by pandering to shallow emotions, but are achieved by great dispassion leading to transcendence of the lower emotive infant. |

This brings to mind Dorothy's comment in The Wizard of Oz, "If I ever go looking for my hearts desire again, I won't look any farther than my own back yard." Now I just need the tenacity to go outside and paint it. |

There is no bad subject. It is all in the painting, not the subject. |

I am trying since a bit of time, but can't get to paint the innocent smile of a little girl who's a neigbor's daughter |

I'd love to paint in Venice. It's a city that looks like it was built to be painted! I wouldn't even consider painting it from photos, since I've never been there and haven't experienced the real thing. |

I have always wanted to paint children , those who have nothing else but joy and hope, poorest of the poor- money wise but much richer than us, in terms of heart |

what will you paint if you are painting from the heart what will you paint if you have just meditated what will you paint if you have just made love what will you paint in your final moment what will you paint if you are one with yourself what will you paint if you had no trouble in the world What would be your last painting what would be your only painting what is your "the painting" what art of yours will you cling to even in death what art of yours will you give away only for love and not for monetary gains. I have been pondering over these thoughts for a few days now, and i invite all to think this over, and if possible to please jot down feelings and things that come to mind to help me on the art journey today and beyond |
