I've read various opinions about which brush manufacturer actually makes the brushes sold under Distributor's Name Here but, as with so many other products made by one company and sold by another, it may not even be relevant. CJAS, for example, may want a particular kind of brush that's no longer available reproduced exactly as it was in the good old days. So they hunt around for a brush maker to accept the contract. The brush is made to Cheap Joe's specs - nobody else sells that particular type of brush, not even the brush maker. And if the specs aren't met or the brush is otherwise unsatisfactory CJAS may just have the brush made elsewhere. So I'm not sure it's a simple matter of hoping to nab an Isabey, Escoda or other quality brush at a bargain price under the CJAS name - these brushes may not be available anywhere else from anyone. |

Does anyone know who manufactures the Legend brushes? They look somewhat like the Richeson kolinsky brushes from the picture. I actually don't know what's the big deal about telling who manufactures the brushes. Any ideas? Hilbert |
