I would suggest watching his video. Plan on bringing your favorite artist quality paints and include some large 1 1/2 inch to 2 1/2 inch brushes for the washes & of course some rounds (smaller) say a 6 or an 8 for detail.

Just take your palette. Andrews is an expressionistic painter, not a
realist. I doubt he cares what color you use as he is going to show
you technique. I haven't been to a workshop, nor a demo, by him, but
base this thought on having read his book.

Just relax, and don't go in thinking you are going to make the next
masterpiece to be auctioned for millions by Southby. I learn the most
by watching the demo. Enjoy, the workshop is "a good thing".

Oh my... is senility catching up to me, or what. Good grief. Hey, maybe the curley haired fellow does make a line of brushes. "Sweating with the brushes". I nearly threw my hip out just last week trying to keep up with him. Let's change Richard to Robert.

Richard Simmons white sable flat?... I'm picturing a talkative, curly-haired little man working out in a fur-lined apartment

PenLetters... I watched a demo of his this year. I don't think he is fussy about supplies, but I did notice.... arches 140# cold pressed, richard simmons white sable flat, washes and larger rounds, and american journey paints. The paints are used probably because one is named after him. He is truly a southern gentleman with a super sense of humor. You will have a good time.

I am signed up to go to my first watercolor
workshop this week. Unfortunately, our art group
appears to be very lax on giving out information.
No supply list has been issued. When I called 2
different members of the group, they said to bring
"the usual supplies." How am I supposed to know
what that means? Every instructor (I would
imagine) likes to use certain colors, paper, etc.
Has anyone attended a Don Andrews workshop? Can
you suggest what to take? I'd be most appreciative
for any help!!! I'm getting a bit frantic
